This is the Meander home at the heart of every stay—a character-filled country house set on four peaceful acres, with open paddocks, a seasonal creek and no neighbours in sight. It’s a place where dogs settle in, find their favourite spot and become part of the daily rhythm.

A day in residence, roughly

Daily routine.

  1. 7-ish

    Morning committee

    Wake near the bed. Stretch, sniff and convene by the door.

  2. 8am

    Breaky and garden time

    Biccies for breakfast, followed by time to potter and play in the garden.

  3. 11am

    Play and company

    One-on-one attention and happy social time—all together, never secluded.

  4. 1.30pm

    Nap time

    A peaceful afternoon snooze before it’s time to head out for the meadow walk.

Who will care for my dog?

Amanda, the owner and resident host of Tasmanian Dog Stays, personally welcomes each dog into her home and provides their day-to-day care, company and attention.

What is included in a stay?

One-on-one attention, sleeping by the bed, a home-cooked dinner, treats, all-day play and company, and an afternoon meadow walk. Dogs are part of the household and never secluded.

How much is a stay?

A stay is $70 per dog, per night. A holiday season surcharge applies.

Where will my dog sleep?

In the house. Your dog settles into the household, sleeps by the fire and stays close to Amanda—never shut away from the family.

Can you cater for special needs?

Yes. Special needs can be catered for, with care tailored to your dog’s individual routine. Let Amanda know what your dog needs when you enquire.

Where are you?

124 Barbers Road, Meander, Tasmania—approximately 22 minutes from Deloraine, 1 hour from Launceston or Devonport, and 3 hours from Hobart. Travel times can vary with traffic, weather and country-road conditions.

What are your opening times?

Drop-off is strictly at 10am, and pick-up must be before 2pm. A surcharge applies outside these times. Enquiries are always welcome.
